Jumbo Frame in OpenIPC

Jumbo Frame — extended packet rate up to 50 Mbps

In April 2025, OpenIPC added Jumbo Frame support in WFB-ng, allowing video streaming at bitrates up to 50 Mbps.

This enables even sharper image quality and a more stable video stream during FPV flights.

How to activate:

• via OpenIPC Configurator Mario
• or manually: change the jumbo packet rate parameters in wfb.yaml

Compatibility

According to the author's tests:

• Jumbo Frame works at 40 MHz frequency
• Supported only with RTL8812AU network cards

According to OpenFPV authors' tests:

• Jumbo Frame works at 20 MHz up to 30 Mbps
• Supported with RTL8812EU2 network cards
